Porsche 992 Carrera - Urban Driving MPG

Checking on the Porsche WLTP figures

Having driven the Porsche 992 for the first time from Full to Fuel light I decided to work out the MPG. This will give an indication of the Porsche 992 fuel economy on urban driving conditions. The Porsche PCM system gives different trip settings but will also show you the trip since the last fuel fill up.

I have compared the 992 trip average MPG to the actual fill up to show how close it was and how efficient the car has been on purely urban driving.

I waited until I emptied a tank and brought the fuel warning on and then took a trip to the fuel station. Using the receipt I went onto a web calculator and came back with the answer.

The Porsche website states the combined MPG on the car information and if you would like to learn more about the newer WLTP testing you can find the EU website here https://www.wltpfacts.eu/what-is-wltp-how-will-it-work/

Did it fall within the advised range?

With MPG figures it has already been proved via some scandals in the last decade regarding emissions etc that not all things car manufacturers tell you is true. Many of us will have noticed that MPG figures used to be rather vague but maybe didn't check them ourselves. I certainly never used to but on this new high cost / high performance car I felt the need to randomly review.
So the combined range 26.2 - 27.4 was the target and my last fill up against the distance on the trip gave me an average of 22.05mpg. However I can confirm that was based solely on urban driving back and forward to work at low average speeds.

The question is do I think that is good? Well it is more around what I expected and it seems like it would be sensible in comparison to the average combined figures offered. If it had been in the 10-19mpg range I would have been worried what was wrong with either my driving or the car!

So for a 385PS car running urban driving for a tank of fuel I think that isn't terrible!
