Buying a new car is always a fun experience so I thought I would share 5 things you get when buying a brand new Porsche from the dealer.
When I bought my new Porsche 911 Carrera 992 I get a slightly different experience to the 718 Cayman I owned before it. Both were bought at the same dealer but the Cayman was an ex demo.
So in no particular order here they are.
1. The 3 year manufacturers warranty
Different manufacturers offer different warranties. When you get longer warranties it is usually a selling tool to prove reliability of the product. If they are willing to cover the car for longer they likely make a better car right? Well you need to check what they consider a warranty failure before you assume it will be as good as you think. While I had issues with my 718 Cayman it was just rattles in the interior. They were taken care of without question and I received a lender car in return while mine was unavailable.
2. Porsche Breakdown Assist
The Porsche breakdown assist is included with new cars sold and covers breakdown across Europe. I have my fingers crossed that I will never likely need to use it but I am glad that it is there. They will recover you and help you get onto your destination while taking you car to somewhere for you.
You can read more about the 2 points above on the Porsche website on the following link:

3. Presentation Box
When you buy a Porsche direct from the dealer they will hand over the car with a presentation box for the spare key which also contains a photo frame and a card holder. The idea behind the photo frame is that you use it to put a nice photo in of your new car! (or so I was told anyway) It's a nice touch and it's something you can keep or pass on with the car when you move it on.
4. Commemorative Paperweight
About a month after buying the car I received a Porsche badge paperweight which also had my name, car type and VIN number I believe laser printed onto face. This isn't something I have had before when buying any car and I felt it was a nice way to mark having purchased the car. It also comes in a Porsche presentation box. Something you can keep long after you have maybe changed your car as a memento.
5. Porsche Experience Centre
As part of your purchase here in the UK you have the ability to attend a half day experience down at the Porsche Experience Centre at the Silverstone race track. You can choose whether to experience one to one education on either the car you purchased or maybe Porsche car you are yet to try. Depending on if you follow the morning or afternoon sessions you will get 2 meals and 2 hours of one to one tuition from a Porsche centre instructor.

BONUS - Invitations to Porsche manufacturer events
When you purchase a Porsche from the dealer you will end up on the client list where you will often receive invites and updates on events organised by the brand. The will at the start ask you if you want to be contacted and what type of events you are likely to be interested in attending. When I purchased my 718 Cayman I was invited to a round of the 911 Cup in the UK. You got a pass and access to the Porsche hospitality which was all there to make you feel part of the brand. As of yet due to ongoing social issues regarding the 2020 pandemic I have yet to attend anything but I hope this will change in the near future.
