A new car has been ordered to replace my sold Porsche 992 Carrera 2. After searching new and used supercars I was given the chance to order a new 2022 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0.
I sold my Porsche 992 back in 2021 at what I thought would be the height of it's second hand trade in value. The plan was to order a new replacement 992 C2 having recovered my deposit money and avoiding the 2nd year service and maintenance costs.
Unfortunately a long list of waiting customers and slow production meant that the wait for a new Porsche 992 model would be long. While looking at alternative replacements Porsche increased their base prices by 2.9% making the cost of a replacement 911 higher again.
When I sold my 992 I did actually put a deposit down for a build slot on a 718 Cayman GTS. When discussing the backlog of customer orders at the dealer I was surprised to find this car has only 2 other customers waiting. So I decided to put down my refundable deposit and see if I would be offered a build slot.
