Discovering stone chips / rock chips on the front end of my Black Porsche 992 & how I found my paint code to order a Porsche touch up paint from the dealer.

After owning my Porsche 992 C2 for over a year now I though I had been very lucky not damaging the front end or bumper with stone chipping or just general marks or scratches. I did hear a loud crack/bang while driving recently and though it was a stone hitting the windscreen. It was actually something hitting the centre of the Porsche 992 bonnet then took a large paint chip out of the surface.

After washing the Black Porsche 992 I realised I had a chip from the paint that was down to the undercoat / primer paint as it was showing though nearly white. I had a smaller but deeper chip next to it right through to the bare metal.

So I rang the Porsche dealer and spoke to the Porsche service department and asked them if there was a touch up paint available for the flat black on my Porsche 992 Carrera model.

They found the build specification from the registration plate and the VIN number to find that there was a Black 041 code touch up paint available.
