Can I pay for my Porsche 992 with passive income by investing it's value in property?
When I started to look at moving out of my one bedroom apartment and trying to get a new mortgage back in early 2019 the numbers looked terrible. I had saved for about 2 years to get a deposit to move to a house after paying down all my debt since 2010 before that.
As I try to pay myself only what I need from my small business for bills I didn't look credit worthy for a personal mortgage but my situation was perfect for property investment.
After never considering it and never being in a position before to try this I decided to look into investing in a property when I couldn't move myself.
After 2 years and working hard to purchase the right properties I ended up with 4. I only intended to invest the deposit I had in savings and decided to buy my Porsche 992 while I still had very low monthly outgoings using my BMW as a deposit.
In 2020 when the bank savings rate went to nearly 0% I decided to take any money I had left and get another property. That actually managed to stretch to 4 in total and over 2 years I had invested and leveraged the same value as my 992 into the investments.
Now these properties pay me back monthly on my investment but it also means it goes a long way towards the payment of my dream Porsche 911.
This wasn't easy to set up and it also wasn't my original intention. But I wanted to share it as I want people to see paying down your debt and keeping costs down, although boring and not very fun can pay you back later.
