Looking inside the 992 Carrera what do you need to know
Looking around the main interior features of my Porsche 992 Carrera 2. The 911 is getting bigger by the year but it seems the rear seats are getting smaller. The main interior feature of a 911 is the fact you have a 2+2 style back seat and just how slight pointless it can be!
Rear Seats
The rear seats in a 911 seem to be as small as ever but still feature the fold down backs that really offer more storage space than people transport. You will be able to get a small child in there but in my personal driver seating position there is not much leg room for the child behind. The seats fold down easily enough with a slide catch which also holds the seat belt as a guide. Once down you can place things in the rear but only the side you can fit through the car doorway at a maximum.
Cup holders
In a revision over the previous 991 model and the still current 718 Cayman & Boxster you have a change to the double cupholder. Where the drop down hiding place used to hold both cups in front of the passenger, there is now only one holder and the second for the driver is an interchangeable pot in front of the middle armrest. If you don't use a cupholder this can also be a small space for keys etc with the cupholder pot being stored in the glove box.
Air conditioning controls
While there are still main controls for cabin temperature and fan speed on the main centre console, the rest of the air controls are now located in the PCM. Inside the PCM menu there is a very easy to use screen with all the different fan controls and A/C controls. Once set I have found no need to really go back in change them, only the need to adjust the fan speed on the centre console if needed.
Armrest storage & phone connection
If you are familiar with the previous 991 model this has carried forward but inside the centre armrest you will find the location for external storage and mobile phone connection. There are 2 USB ports which can also be used for charging along with a sim card slot if needed.
